To mark the second phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Google launched a Doodle on its homepage which features an inked finger as India continues its monumental democratic exercise. The second phase began on April 26, as polling commenced across 88 constituencies spread across 13 states and Union Territories.

To celebrate the day, Google replaced its iconic logo on the homepage with an image of an index finger marked with indelible ink – a symbolic gesture of the democratic electoral process in India. When clicked, it leads people to top stories on the latest updates of elections.

Take a look at the Doodle here:

Several people have cast their votes, including BJP veteran and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, author and philanthropist Sudha Murty and her husband and Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, actor Prakash Raj, Team India coach Rahul Dravid, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, among others.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens, especially the young and women voters, to vote in “record numbers”.

There are a total of 1,210 candidates in the fray in this phase.
